Quotes:

"I need to do something about this "
"I need to find out more about"
"Can I just come and chat with you?"

"I'm hoping if you can help me?" "I've been strongly recommended to you by a friend."

These are just some of the opening questions I get. In each case we had a chat on the telephone. For most we set up an initial assessment consultation to assess the whole person, not just the symptoms. Then we really got to grips with the possible underlying causes and the treatment options.

Food Intolerance Test for Food Allergies

Are the foods you are eating making you feel ill?

Some Common symptoms associated with food allergy / intolerance:

  • Fatigue

  • Bloating

  • Irritable Bowel Syndrome

  • Diarrhoea / Constipation

  • Headaches

  • Joint Problems

  • Skin complaints

  • Sinus / Catarrh

Food Allergy Testing

Our qualified allergy therapists are able, by using a simple, painless food intolerance test, able to pin point potentially harmful foods that could be causing your symptoms. They are trained to then offer you advice on a sensible elimination programme.

A vitamin and mineral check is also provided alongside basic nutritional counselling. All of our registered allergy therapists are also either qualified as nutritional therapists, or undertaking ongoing professional training to become nutritional therapists.

What does a test involve

Allergy Test

Over 120 substances which include common foods and drinks are tested during our consultation.
The equipment we use is a bio-electronic analyzer which measures the body's electrical resistance to the afore mentioned substances. If a substance is causing a problem then it will effect the body's electrical resistance. The test is completely painless and is best described as a ball point pen touching the tip of your finger upon a acupuncture point

How long does it take?

A Consultation with our allergy therapist takes approximately 45 - 60 minutes, and the results are instantaneous. We at Asknutrition believe that an essential part of the test is to provide nutritional advice and counselling geared to the client's circumstances and needs. Whilst we appreciate that other providers are able to carry out a test in a shorter period, our service is unique in that we provide an all round service which treats the client as an individual. We believe that once you have undergone one of our tests and experienced our professional service you will have no hesitation in recommending us to your friends.

How Much does it cost?

Test's cost in the region of £45-£60 depending on geographical location, experience and duration of appointment.

Please note not all associate therapists of Asknutrition are qualified nutritional therapists.

Who can be tested?

This test is suitable for anyone other than those with a pacemaker and any aged child subject to them being on solid foods. If you are taking prescribed medication this will not interfere with the test.

How many tests will I need?

We tend to find only one test is necessary as our trained allergy therapists are able to provide ongoing support and advise, through our dedicated help-line. However if more in-depth therapy is required Asknutrition is able to offer you the service of one of it's qualified Nutritional Therapists. (This will incur a separate fee.)

It is generally advisable, however that at least one follow up appointment is made to revisit the therapist one month after the test, to monitor progress whilst carrying out any eliminations of food from your diet.

Will I have to avoid certain foods forever?

This will depend on whether your body can tolerate the food once it has been reintroduced into your diet, after an initial 4 week programme. In some circumstances this 4 week period will have to be extended, if, for example, the body's immune and digestive systems need additional support to eradicate the underlying problem.
